Surat Thani Train Station to Hat Yai Town Destination Reviews

I tried changing my date immediately after I booked and they would not work with me

Try to buy a ticket with a berth or 2nd category. We traveled in 3rd category because there were none left and the night on the train we hardly slept at all. The online ticket will not need to be exchanged and will be valid for travel on the train.

Train left almost 1 hour too late, but we still managed to easily make our connecting train (to Padang Besar, Malaysia) as we only arrived about 20 minutes later than the mentioned time. 2nd class is well worth the money as always in Thai trains, Decently comfortable seats and large luggage racks overhead.

Pick up 1 hour late, no clear instructions. The local office didnt want to help us as we didnt buy the ticket to him. We called the hotline and they informed and arranged the pickup. As the driver was 1 hour late, we almost were late for the speedboat, so he drove too fast for 1 hour and a half. People on the van complained of his driving but he didnt care.
