Transportation from Ho Chi Minh City to Danang

Ho Chi Minh City to Danang Destination Reviews

EB
Excellent train. We travelled on SE2 (one of the newer trains - check ‘the man in seat 61’ website for an explanation of Vietnamese trains). I read some other reviews, including bad ones about the state of the trains. Our cabin was very clean, the restaurant car was a nice place to sit and watch the world go by, the toilet smelled but you’re on a train - what can you really expect? We could not smell it in the carriage. The staff were helpful. The bedding was clean and the people we shared a cabin with slept the whole time. You have a little light and charging point at the head of the bed. My partner is almost 2m tall and he fit in the bed laying flat out. There was ample room for luggage above the door to the cabin. Vietnam have excellent trains considering where you are, much better than a coach for sure!

Train was clean and staff friendly. The ride is quite shaky compared to trains in other countries. AC was very cold during the night.

Transport and bed was comfortable, but the train was very loud during night, so it was very hard to sleep. Unfortunately the lock didn't work, so the door opened and closed at each station. The service however was truly amazing. The conducters checked the compartment at every stop to make sure everything's fine and occasionally closed the door. Finally I was Reminder to get off at my destination, as I don't speak Vietnamese and the announcements were in Vietnamese only.

The trip wasn’t so bad but the cigarette smoke nearly killed me I’ve been suffering asthma and a chest infection ever since I got off the train I thought it was a non smoking train guards didn’t care if people smoked some went between carriages left doors open and the smoke filled the carriage with lots of people coughing ruined the trip for me

Beds in first class were comfortable but the toilet facilities were very bad. The toilets did not flush in my 2 nearest carriages and the staff did nothing to fix it. I even saw a member of staff use the toilet with the door wide open. The door to the cabine kept getting stuck.

We purchased two cabins, each cabin to sleep 2 people. The cabins were well presented and clean. The bedding was sufficient. However the air conditioning in the roof was closed and we had to open ourselves later in the night. There were various people sitting on chairs and sleeping in the hallway including one man who was using his mobile phone at 2AM in the morning very loud - I had to ask the conductor to ask him to stop. She was fantastic and I wish to commend her service as brilliant. The toilets were dirty and need to be cleaned more often. But the experience was extraordinary and we are glad we did the trip once in our life. Thank you.
