Phuket to Koh Tao, Koh Phangan and Koh Samui

But you do not have to dive to enjoy the beautiful marine life. Dive courses are relatively inexpensive, but you can always go for a snorkeling trip. Our tip for a very nice experience: visit the small neighbor island Koh Nang Yuan and explore the house reef called 'Japanese Garden'.

Many different tours are waiting for you and if you can drive a scooter you should explore the island on your own. But keep in mind that many people leave the island with a so-called 'island tattoo' they got themselves when under-estimating their own driving skills while driving too fast without protective clothing.

Koh Phangan is about 60 kilometers away from the mainland in the province of Surat Thani. The island can be visited all year round, but sometimes with heavy rainfalls between October and December. The weather on Koh Samui is very similar to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao. The months of July & August and December & January show the most visitors.
