About Transporzuma

While some travellers feel skeptical about vans, a good choice of destinations and competitive prices make vans one of the most popular means of transport for others. Vans are always more flexible than big buses. If there is a sudden request for rides to some new destinations, van operators are always the first to offer their service. Indeed, it is easier to launch a new route if you operate a vehicle of 10-15 pax capacity, isn’t it?

Transporzuma operates van service and offers tickets with easy online booking. Check them if you are looking for options to travel by van.

What are the Main Stations of Transporzuma?

Transporzuma’s vans run to and from the following terminals:

  • Santa Teresa Beach Hotels
  • Dennys Restaurant San Jose Airport
  • Tamarindo Hotel Transfer
  • La Fortuna Hotel Transfer
  • Santa Teresa Beach Hotels
  • San Jose Hotel Transfer
  • San Jose Hotel Transfer
  • Tamarindo Hotel Transfer
  • La Fortuna Hotel Transfer
  • Liberia Hotel Transfer

What are the Vans Classes & Prices of Transporzuma?

As a rule, it is not possible to choose a ticket class when travelling by van. Yet you can check with the operator and/or choose the type of van which serves your route. Some vans seat only 9-10 passengers, others accommodate up to 15 travellers. The former case means you may have more legroom, wider seats and a more comfortable ride, the latter – be ready for a limited space for your legs, elbows and your luggage. Read reviews on Transporzuma van service to be sure they meet your expectations.

Pros & Cons of Van Travel

Pros of Van Travel

  • Vans often reach the destinations where neither buses nor trains travel. These include secondary towns and smaller villages
  • In most cases vans are the fastest way to get to your destination if travelling to relatively short distances overland simply because they are smaller than buses and more maneuverable
  • Vans can let you get off at a more convenient point enroute – not necessarily at the terminal, what actually can save you loads of time and money in some cases.

Cons of Van Travel

  • Some vans can be quite cramped with limited space for luggage available. Well, actually almost all vans offer limited luggage space and if you have more than one bag, suitcase or backpack, it may be a good idea to buy a separate seat for your luggage – yes, you will pay double for your trip, alas
  • It is worth checking if your van runs on schedule or leaves when full – in the latter case you may end up waiting too long as on several routes it can take quite a time for a van to fill up.
  • You should know that van drivers are notorious for their speedy driving. Even the most reputable companies sometimes fail to persuade the drivers to respect the speed limits. Even if your van driver does not insist on it, always buckle your seatbelt while travelling by van
  • If you easily get seasick and your trip includes winding stretches, chances to feel motion sickness are higher while travelling by van than by bus. Take your medicine half an hour before your trip to be on the safe side.

Much confusions but made it there eventually. Booked a ticket for a transfer from La Fortuna to Samara. 5 mins into the journey I was told there was no bus transfer available for later in the journey to get my to my final destination and I would have to get out. I had already paid for the ticket, was on the bus and had a week of accommodation paid for in Samara so said they needed to sort it out. To their credit they did, 2 bus and one taxi ride later I made it to Samara. Total journey time 7 hours rather than the advertised 5.

The driver was 50 minutes late and we never got updates from the company about him being delayed. We had to contact them ourselves after waiting 30 minutes and not hearing anything. They just said he was late and at some point they stopped answering.

Your company is fine, the problem is the company you are working with in Costa Rica. Montezuma bus...first part of the trip was fine, nice driver , nice van. But we had to take 3 differents bus/van. and wait very often ( more than 20mn for other passengers coming from other buses. ) Not only that , Bus 2 from Liberia to Nicoya was an old shaking inonnfortable small bus .. with a lot of waiting timE. Passengers were complaining . Driver was fine, and kept calm... 3 van , was fine driver fine as well . In short bad organization and 1 bus that should not be used for this trip. I arrived more than an hour later than the ETA . I am never taking this company again.

The pickup arrived about 30 minutes early, which was unexpected and not communicated in advance. I was under the impression I had booked a direct route, but we were shuffled between three different buses. At one point, we were pulled over on the side of the road, rushed off the bus, and told to board another. During this transfer, one passenger’s bag was forgotten entirely. We stopped at the airport for a drop-off, then inexplicably drove 15–20 minutes in the opposite direction to drop off a friend of the driver who had been riding along, before backtracking past the airport to the bus terminal. There, we were made to wait again while staff figured out which bus we were supposed to be on. The driver during this portion of the trip was extremely reckless — constantly on his phone, watching Instagram reels, and driving aggressively while weaving in and out of traffic. Eventually, we boarded a different bus for the final leg to Liberia. This experience was much better: the driver was professional, courteous, followed traffic laws, and drove directly to the destination. Unfortunately, the overall experience before that point was disorganized, unsafe, and far from what was advertised.

To be honest the first part of the trip was 5 stars great driver relaxed trip . It was the change over to the next shuttle… didn’t drop us off at accommodation .. tells us that’s the accommodation on the left side .. he lied … didn’t want to drive few steps more and our accommodation was on the right side further up

Los conductores fueron muy amables y profesionales. Sin embargo, me hubiese gustado saber con anticipación que mi ruta requería cambiar de vehículo en varias ocasiones
