The biggest issue is often the relatively early final departure of the day which can sometimes cause issues for those who have been travelling throughout the day from other destinations in Thailand such as Bangkok or Hat Yai. If you fly into Hat Yai’s airport in the afternoon then it will be difficult to visit Koh Lipe with Lipe Ferry and Speedboat on the same day as the last departure is scheduled to leave Pak Bara at 15.00. It can be inconvenient as you may need to stay overnight in Hat Yai or Pak Bara where options are limited.
