Company Information

Adang Sea Tour is the main speedboat company from Koh Lipe to Pak Bara, a small coastal village in the province of Satun. The operator also offers services to Hat Yai, a large city in the south of the country, close to the border with Malaysia.

Routes served by Adang Sea Tour

Pak Bara–Koh Lipe

There are three speedboat departures each day between Koh Lipe and Pak Bara, scheduled for 09.00, 11.30 and 16.00 (arriving at 11.00, 13.30 and 18.00 respectively). The two-hour journey is priced at THB650. There are also three services each day from Pak Bara to Koh Lipe, departing the mainland at 09.30, 11.30 and 14.30, with tickets available at the same price for both trips.

Pak Bara–Hat Yai

The other main route offered by Adang Sea Tour connects Pak Bara with Hat Yai. The route is served exclusively by vans. There are two services each day from Pak Bara to Hat Yai at 11.30 and 13.30, scheduled to arrive 90 minutes later at 13.00 and 15.00 respectively. There are four services each day from Hat Yai to Pak Bara at 08.30, 09.30, 11.00 and 12.30, with tickets available for THB250.

Adang Sea Travel have their own fleet of speedboats for sea journeys and vans for ground transportation.

There is a good range of options throughout the day on all of these routes, with departures every couple of hours from the mainland to Koh Lipe. Adang Sea Tour is also a good choice to travel to Hat Yai and the border with Malaysia, ideal for those travelling around the region on a budget or those whose visa is coming to an end and need to exit the country.

One of the main advantages is the cost of tickets, with Adang Sea Tour offering one of the cheapest ways to reach Koh Lipe from the mainland.

One of the biggest issues with these services is that the sea throughout the journey can get quite rough. If you have ever suffered from seasickness in the past then you will probably want to consider investing in some tablets to combat this and make sure you take them in plenty of time ahead of the journey to ensure they start working!

Unfortunately, delays are fairly common on these routes and the straightforward two hour journey can often extend well beyond this by the time all the passengers have boarded and the trip has been completed.

Keep in mind

Adang Sea Tour can also arrange tours to a wide range of destinations, including Malaysia’s Langkawi, home to one of the best beaches in the region.

Travellers reviews

Adang Sea Tour offers visitors good flexibility on the few routes that are offered, if you are looking to head from the mainland to Koh Lipe then there are several departures spread throughout the day to suit your schedule.

Also, Adang Sea Tour is a good option for anyone who wishes to visit Malaysia directly from Koh Lipe as the operator can arrange for tours of Langkawi, which lies very close to the island. Additionally, the option of services to Hat Yai are popular with travellers as this little-visited city is very close to the border with Malaysia so is an ideal stop for a night or two on the way to the border. If you are pushed for time, whether you have a flight to catch or if your Thai visa is close to expiring, then you can head straight from Hat Yai across the border into Malaysia to discover another beautiful country.

It is also worth bearing in mind that there are not any toilets on board the ferry services and, although the trip is scheduled to take just two hours, delays can be fairly common so it is best to take this into account!

December 2017

Toru, Dec 31, 2017 - Efficient and polite driver. Thanks.
Nathan, Dec 27, 2017 - FALSE AND MISSLEADING ADVERTISING!! I was on langkawi island trying to get to Hat Yai for train north to Surat Thani. So I Booked a bus trip online with 12GO Asia : Satun to Hat-Yai. Naturally I was thinking if I take the langkawi ferry to Satun I can get the bus I booked to hat yai. Turns out ,. 12Go Asia advertises Satun but they mean Pak Bara. Pak Bara is no where near Satun. In fact it's an hour north in the opposite direction as Hat Yai. I paid more than double to barley get to the train on time as my tickets for the bus I booked with 12Go Asia were no F'n good in Satun when I arrived. I called them to rectify this issue 3hrs prior to my scheduled bus trip and they did nothing to help me connect with the driver or remedy the concern at hand. Just talked in circles for 20 minutes which was a $40 phone call. Thanks 12Go Asia. Good to know a few hundred baht is more important to you than a customer that has booked 6 trips with your company in one month and got screwed on 3. Will never book again.

August 2017

Clara, Aug 4, 2017 - The van did not come on time. When we called they could not tell us why. They said they would come after 5-10 minutes...after half an hour a taxi arrived. De driver said the van did not want to wait for us...while we were there waiting half an hour before a bit strange but finally the trip went well and we made it to take the ferry to koh lipe.

July 2017

Bernardus, Jul 20, 2017 - Too many people on the boat if you ask me.... but I liked the speed, it took us about 90 minutes to get to Koh Lipe. Be sure you don't get seasick! No toilet!!
