train #83 1st Class Sleeper, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Dec 8, 2020
The staff are friendly and helpful. But the train is very old and noisy. After leaving like 30+ minutes late, it took an hour to get like 10 miles from the station. Literally this whole train was waiting at traffic lights. No signal prioritization or grade separation or anything. Then we seemed to stop every 20 minutes or so for the first part of the trip to pick up or drop off people. Honestly, this train could be like 2+ hours quicker if they ran express and got prioritization at road crossings. Our room was fine. But it wasn’t entirely clean and it definitely hadn’t been updated in forever. There was no food car so you’re on your own to pack food. I’m glad it had air conditioning but we couldn’t control it in our room so we froze. Better than the alternative I guess. Plus, man was it loud and bumpy! Bring earplugs or sleep may elude you. The train was fun and nostalgic but unless they update the entire system, it’s going to remain a novelty for most people rather than a viable transportation option.

train #85 2nd Class Sleeper AC, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Mar 27, 2020
Must say that overrall, it was more than a pleasant experience. The attendant that was looking after the carriage i was in was pretty helpful as in he ensured that i was awake some half-hour before the train arrived at Chumphon(i asked him to). Only one hiccup and that it would have been better if the reading light was working.
Bus Express, Suwannatee (สุวรรณนทีขนส่ง), Mar 16, 2020

train #85 2nd Class Sleeper AC, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Feb 19, 2020

train #39 2nd Class AC seats only, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Feb 11, 2020
Train itself was exactly what we expected however due to it setting off later than planned we missed our ferry to Koh Tao and was unable to get a refund.
train #171 2nd Class Fan seats only, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Feb 10, 2020
I thought is was quite horrible .... Getting the tickets was easy and we even left on time . But the journey took far more time than scheduled and there was no explanation for it ! I sat in the train from Bangkok to Chumphon for more than 10 hours instead of the 8 scheduled . The trains could also use some kind of update ! Come on , it’s the 20’s but not the 1920’s ... Never again ...
train #171 2nd Class Fan seats only, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Feb 6, 2020
Train arrived to Chumphon late by 2 hours.
Bus Express, Suwannatee (สุวรรณนทีขนส่ง), Feb 5, 2020
Pretty easy to figure out. People where helpful. Just arrive early before hand like they suggest. It was a bit of a rush for us and we where almost late
train #39 2nd Class AC seats only, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Feb 4, 2020
I needed to collect my tickets out of hours, because my train left at 11pm. I telephoned the 12Go Asia office in an advance to discuss options on how to do this. They very kindly organised that a night security guard could give me my ticket. Thank you!! I was very happy with this option, otherwise i would have had to either go to the office during the day, then go back (a 2-hour round-trip), then go back again for the train, OR arrive at the station 3 hours too early for my train. But I was very disappointed to find the train was NOT a sleeper, just normal seats, so I didnt sleep - I chose a train because I cannot sleep sitting up on buses, etc, and thought night trains had flat-bed seats :(( But I dont think that the fault of 12Go Asia, except that the tickets were then very expensive for what they were - my ticket price showed 200 baht LESS than what i paid 12Go Asia, so I wasnt happy about that....
Bus Express, Suwannatee (สุวรรณนทีขนส่ง), Feb 2, 2020
It was a very nice experience, super profissional and we even got a very traditional Thai lunch included!! Value for money really incredible, highly recommended!!
train #31 1st Class Sleeper, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Jan 28, 2020
It was a pleasant trip. The only thing is that the information screen shows a wrong arrival time. The train arrived 1 hour later then scheduled in Chumphon and you don’t know what the arrival time will be. The staff was very helpful. Tip. Learn the people some basic English.
train #43 2nd Class AC seats only, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Jan 14, 2020
Overall a great experience, friendly train staff and a nice journey. We received a free snack, and then a meal - totally unexpected given the low cost of the tickets! Train carriage had AC which was great to start with, but after a while the carriage was very warm and fans were turned on. Train arrived and set off on time, but we reached our destination about 1 hour late. Would use again, but make sure to allow plenty of time to make connections!
Bus Express, Suwannatee (สุวรรณนทีขนส่ง), Jan 11, 2020
Seats were quite comfortable, reclined there was the possibility to have a good nap. We arrived 1 hour later. Air condition was very strong, it was so cold during the all journey. The stop for having lunch was okay. Cleaning of the bus is improvable.
train #85 2nd Class Sleeper AC, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Jan 8, 2020
Pretty comfortable for what I was expecting, sadly I wasn’t really able to sleep because the light was shining right in my face. Was also about 2 hours late but luckily the ferry company put me right onto the next one even though I was late
taxi SUV 4pax, Thailand Limo by Datum (บริษัท เดทัมกรุ๊ป จำกัด), Dec 31, 2019
Very efficient, polite driver who turned up early and was happy for us to take two stops en route. Only quibble is that I wish that our driver (and drivers in general) would not look at their phone and send messages when the traffic is going slowly. Also the car isnt enormous for 7 hours drive. But an efficient and good experience overall.
taxi Premium, Glassflower (Glassflower), Dec 24, 2019
We did not get the van that is in the photos and it was a very uncomfortable ride on very uncomfortable seats. The driver was excellent however.
Bus Express, Suwannatee (สุวรรณนทีขนส่ง), Dec 23, 2019

train #85 1st Class Sleeper, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Nov 29, 2019
we stayed in 1st class wagon, outdated train but very comfortable in itself when you pick up the tickets in DOB building super friendly staff you explain everything well 1 min point: you have to set your alarm to get off on time in chumphon because that way you won't wake up
Bus Express, Suwannatee (สุวรรณนทีขนส่ง), Nov 25, 2019
The guy on the bus didn’t speak a word English. I got dropped off in the night on a empty street in Chumphon. But there was good airco and we stopped for a meal.
train #85 1st Class Sleeper, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Nov 11, 2019
Everything went as expected. First class sleeper is really great. I would recommend to bring your own food though. The one in the train is quite expensive for its quality.
train #85 2nd Class Sleeper AC, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Nov 9, 2019
Great service
Bus Express, Suwannatee (สุวรรณนทีขนส่ง), Oct 31, 2019
AmaZing hospitality, free snacks and meal and nice lady knew everyone’s names and destinations
train #43 2nd Class AC seats only, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Oct 29, 2019
Super easy handling to get the ticket. The trip took 1 1/2 hours longer, which is caused by a construction site along the whole route. This is probably urgently necessary and also not too bad. An info before would have been quite nice. The train itself is okay. Relatively old seats, but air-conditioned. The staff is super friendly and there is a hot meal and as much water as you need.
train #85 2nd Class Sleeper AC, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Oct 25, 2019
It was a night train in Thailand so there will be issues such as stains on the blankets and people coming along trying to sell things to you, but it was fine. Arrived an hour or so late but thankfully we didn't miss our ferry to Koh Tao so not too big an issue in the end.
Bus Express, Suwannatee (สุวรรณนทีขนส่ง), Oct 18, 2019
Nice journey.. Courtesy staff
train #85 2nd Class Sleeper AC, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Oct 17, 2019
Sleeper beds were spacious and there were clean sheets and pillows which made the journey very comfortable. Overall cleanliness could be improved, particularly in the toilets.
train #85 2nd Class Sleeper AC, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Oct 14, 2019
Train was good, beds was comfortable, but toilets was a little bit disgusting. The biggest disadvantages was 3 hours delayed, it caused that I missed my ferry. No one informed about this delay.

It was exactly what it promised. BUT it arrived later.
train #167 2nd Class Sleeper Fan, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Aug 11, 2019
The train journey itself was pleasurable with relatively good beds and even though we did not have air-conditioning it was still doable with the heat. However, if you sleep on the top bunk, you won't get to sleep at all. The top bunk is much warmer and also very light as the bright lights of the train shine directly into your bed. The lower bunk is perfect though, as you can open the window and you are hidden away from the light by the top bunk. The beds are also relatively short. There is no food aboard the train, so remember to bring some! Also, we weren't sure but they do wake you up before you reach your destination.
train #37 2nd Class Sleeper AC, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Aug 6, 2019
The train was clean and confortable, there was conditionned air, the staff were kind and helpfull. One hour hour delay.

Positive adventure, ideal transport
Bus VIP, Suwannatee (สุวรรณนทีขนส่ง), Jul 18, 2019
Had to change the digital 12go Asia voucher to actual bus tickets at the bus stop counter. Bought the offered connecting boat tickets at same counter, which were not available through 12goA. Connection to ferry by next bus from railway station. Excellent service and comfort.
Bus Express, Suwannatee (สุวรรณนทีขนส่ง), Jul 17, 2019
Easy, comfortable trip. Good stop over.
train #85 2nd Class Sleeper AC, Thai Railways (การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย), Jul 16, 2019
Excellent & efficient service from 12goasia and the cafe next to the office is a welcome respite from the bustle of this part of Bangkok. Train service overall good, not a load of sleep but our arrival time in Chumphon was 04:10!
