Passenger reviews out of total 126,333 passengers traveled with us on this route

At 12Go our operators offer three types of service:

Cheap, Fast, Good - but you can usually pick only two of them!
Cheap & Fast won’t be Good. (e.g. buses from/to Khao San Road, local buses or 3rd class trains)
Cheap & Good won’t be Fast. (e.g. VIP trains in Thailand)
Fast & Good won’t be Cheap. (e.g. private limousine services, or VIP24 buses vs Express buses)

Make your choice! Please remember that though we are closely monitoring services, we are still an agency marketplace - meaning we focus on ticketing service and route availability / coverage rather than on factual seat recline angle you got today ^_^

★★★★☆ Dec 13, 2017 (bus Express, Bangkok Busline) :
Fine ride, though you cannot expect to have a perfect ride. Smelly feet are everywhere and I have trouble sleeping because of it. But the service is great, though the steward would only speak in Thai. Other than that, it is worth the price paid. Would definitely book again.
★★★★★ Dec 13, 2017 (train #7 Class II AC, Thai Railways) :
Excellent way to get from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. On time, clean, refreshments provided, etc great way to see a country
★★★★☆ Dec 13, 2017 (train #51 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
On time, comfy, quiet. Breakfast could be a bit better for 150 THB.
★★★★☆ Dec 13, 2017 (train #51 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Simple and hassle free
★★★☆☆ Dec 13, 2017 (train #13 VIP Sleeper, Thai Railways) :
12Go was fantastic and informative 5/5. The old 1st class sleeper train is very run down.
★★★★☆ Dec 13, 2017 (train #13 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Very friendly staff. Air condition and fan, the temperature a bit too cold. Pleasantly surprised that it was not a feeling over being crowded, even though every seat was booked. Use ear plugs. It can be noisy from the train, especially if you are close to the doors. Beautiful landscape before Chiang Mei.

★★★★☆ Dec 12, 2017 (train #9 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Really good service. The office to get your ticket is near Hua lamphong train station. Really nice and clean train, but the air conditioning was to cold. Make sure you have some warm clothes for the train ride
★★★★☆ Dec 12, 2017 (bus Express, Bangkok Busline) :
Nice and comfortable seats. Friendly staff and good lunch along the way. However 14-hour of thai-tv was a bit much...
★★★★★ Dec 12, 2017 (train #13 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
I changed my ticket for the new train 9 that departed at 18:10, it was amazingly clean, service was good and I felt very comfortable. It was my first time travelling like this and I look forward to doing it again :)
★★★★★ Dec 12, 2017 (train #13 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Great way to move across Thailand. Basic but clean.
★★★★★ Dec 12, 2017 (train #13 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Reasonable price. Great Air conditioned sleeper car with friendly service (they make and take down your bed for you) and curtains give enough privacy. Food and beverage service was very friendly although slightly overpriced. HIGHLY recommend this option.
★★★★★ Dec 12, 2017 (bus VIP20, Sombat Tour) :
Had a really pleasant trip! Was pleasantly surprised that it was equipped with new blanket and a neckrest.
★★★★★ Dec 12, 2017 (train #9 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways)
★★★★☆ Dec 12, 2017 (bus Express, Bangkok Busline) :
We got way more than we felt like we paid for, with free blanket, supper and breakfast, comfy seats, good driver and nice staff (not english speaking though - even though most passengers are tourists). However, the headrest was a little hard to sleep on (i eventually found the right spot though).

1st time on train to Chiangmai. Generally, sleeper car experience was fantastic! Some points to consider to improve: - Restaurant car list it's opening hours. - Wish the curtains have no gap as light comes through the gap - All the top bunks and lower back rests are dusty - would be nice to know before hand when to wake up so the attendant can make up the beds. Overall fantastic experience! Will do it again!
★★★★☆ Dec 11, 2017 (train #51 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Beds are quite comfy. I suck at sleeping in noisey environments, so not much sleep for me. You can walk around a bit and chill at the 'restaurant', also a good place to smoke.
★★★★★ Dec 11, 2017 (train #13 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways)
★★★★★ Dec 11, 2017 (train #9 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Very nice train, beds are ok and a lot of food available!
★★★★★ Dec 11, 2017 (train #9 VIP Sleeper, Thai Railways) :
Most comfortable train ride I've ever been on! And ticket pickup the day before was very simple.
★★★★★ Dec 11, 2017 (train #7 Class II AC, Thai Railways) :
Comfortable seats with ample leg room, excellent views, frequent beverage service, appreciated snacks and a meal, friendly staff, recommend this trip!
★★☆☆☆ Dec 11, 2017 (train #7 Class II AC, Thai Railways) :
Very long and slow trip. Not so comfortable seats as you show. Not value for money
★★★★★ Dec 10, 2017 (train #13 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :

★★★★☆ Dec 10, 2017 (train #9 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Generally a good service, please turn the lights out at night!
★★★★☆ Dec 10, 2017 (train #51 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Enjoy your trip!
★★★★☆ Dec 10, 2017 (bus VIP, Budsarakham Tour) :
Was good. Bring a neck pillow. Chairs recline, and have massage built in. They provide blanket, a bottle of water, cookies and a soy milk drink. Just lay back and sleep the whole way there if you're doing it over night.
★★☆☆☆ Dec 10, 2017 (bus Express, Bangkok Busline) :
Food wasn't great, but it's to be expected on public transport, hostess was not very helpful and rude, seats were comfy though

Really interesting trip, bed was cute, private with a curtain, good restaurant cart. Time seemed to go by quickly
★★★★☆ Dec 10, 2017 (bus VIP, Budsarakham Tour) :
The bus was luxury, only thing it was a little bit too cold (14degrees)
★★★★★ Dec 10, 2017 (train #9 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Amazing Experience
★★★★★ Dec 9, 2017 (train #13 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Train was an enjoyable experience. Booking and ticket were straightforward. Some windows can be a bit foggy and it can get a bit bumpy but that's part of the charm and to be expected. Only wish is more charger ports.
★★★★★ Dec 9, 2017 (train #9 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Got all the info when purchasing tickets from online. Easy to pick up. Train was clean and there was food options. Slept okay. The train is well air conditioned so 21-24 degrees all the time, take a sweater. Lights are on allthe time in the train so made sleeping abit too difficult but nothing to complain. Was better that I thought.
★★★★☆ Dec 9, 2017 (train #13 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
didn't get the first class sleeper even though we booked well in advance, but the 2nd sleeper was ok.
★★★☆☆ Dec 9, 2017 (train #13 VIP Sleeper, Thai Railways) :
The train was on time and comfortable other than overnight the carriage was very very cold. We could not adjust the aircon and our fellow hardy passengers from Canada were also cold. The service was otherwise fine.
★★★★★ Dec 9, 2017 (bus VIP27, Sombat Tour) :
Excellent! Very happy with our journey ????
★★★★★ Dec 8, 2017 (bus Express, Bangkok Busline)
★★★★★ Dec 8, 2017 (train #51 Class II Sleeper Fan, Thai Railways) :
This by far the best way to travel from Bangkok to chiang Mai! 12GO provides a great reliable and trusted service that we have used many times. If you can, get the 10pm class 2 sleeper from Bangkok to chiang Mai, for the best views of the sunrise and Thai scenery.
★★★☆☆ Dec 8, 2017 (train #13 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
C'était un voyage complètement atypique que je conseille de faire. On y très bien mangé, les personnes sont chaleureuses. Seul bémol, il faisait quand même bien frais! Je conseille !

We saw bugs in beds, the beds weren't confortável and the toilets were dirty.
★★★★☆ Dec 8, 2017 (train #9 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
I didn't like that the light was turned on all night and that it was not allowed to drink beer in the train. But besides that conditiond were very good, clean, modern car.
★★★☆☆ Dec 8, 2017 (avia Economy, Thai Lion Air) :
We left late and there were too many messages from the staff during the flight. Except that, everything was fine.
★★★★★ Dec 7, 2017 (bus Express, Bangkok Busline)
★★★☆☆ Dec 7, 2017 (bus VIP, Budsarakham Tour) :
The bus terminal and ticket counter were really hard to find and the staff not very helpful as hardly anyone understood our problem. So I would definitely plan to be there more than half an hour in advance!! We were searching for like 1 hour or more. Anyhow, the bus trip itself was quite good, we departured 20 min late, but got some snacks and a blanked and arrived on time. The seats were comfortable and you could lean backwards. We could even sleep in the bus. It was not as comfy as a nice hotel room, but definitely worth the money and for poor backpackers such as me a great opportunity to travel from A to B :)
★★★★☆ Dec 7, 2017 (train #9 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Good train for the price. Busy but friendly people in board. Wasnt aware you couldnt drink beer on the train.
★★★★☆ Dec 7, 2017 (train #9 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
The train was very comfortable. The only downside is that's it's absolutely freezing so take a hoodie and that the lights are kept on all night, It would have been nice even if then had been dimmed.
★★★★☆ Dec 7, 2017 (bus VIP20, Sombat Tour) :
Really great and comfortable service, though my screen didn't work (my wife's did). Overall a very relaxing trip.

Perfectly decent mode of transportation. I had a bottom bunk that i found to be comfortable. A lot of people seem to complain about the air conditioning but i didn't have a problem with it. I would definitely recommend this train.

They gave us free snacks right after we got into the bus, then a meal around midnight and one last snack in the morning. There is phone charging slot as well. Bus seat is comfy! Super deal with reasonable price. Great job Bangkok Busline ????

★★★☆☆ Dec 6, 2017 (train #13 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Although this train ride is not for e everybody, it was fine for me. No problem with the air conditioning. Yes the toilets are rough, if have traveled the back roads of SE Asia they aren't the worst. Yes the lower bunks are better. For my part, based the food, service, and bunks, I would recommend taking the night train.
★★★★★ Dec 6, 2017 (bus VIP24, Bangkok Busline) :
Can't recommend enough dropping the extra few bucks for the VIP24 service if you can swing it. I'm a frugal individual but I'd drop the extra $5 to make the ~10 hour trip from Bangkok to Chiang Mai exponentially better any day of the week. Don't cheap yourself out on this one ladies and gentleman.
★★★★☆ Dec 6, 2017 (bus Express, Bangkok Busline) :
GOOD service but 30min late.

★★★★☆ Dec 6, 2017 (train #13 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Overall pretty comfortable and fun very experience! Not many outlets for charging and I wasn’t aware that all the (mediocre) food Costed extra and was a bit overpriced for Thailand..
★★★☆☆ Dec 6, 2017 (train #13 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
I love the sleeper trains in Thailand, but they've mostly all become air-conditioned and are way too cold, also they leave the bright florescent lights on all night so if you're in an upper berth you definitely need warm clothes and a blindfold. Bring back the second-class sleeper fan option!
★★★★★ Dec 6, 2017 (train #9 VIP Sleeper, Thai Railways) :
Perfectly arranged by 12go.asia. excellent, very comfortable night train up north. Thanks!
★★★★☆ Dec 6, 2017 (bus VIP, Budsarakham Tour) :
Nice bus, plenty of space for the legs. The Air-con was perfect, not very cole. Seats are comfy and you have free snacks and drinks.
★★★★★ Dec 5, 2017 (train #9 Class II Sleeper AC, Thai Railways) :
Esperienza molto carina!

We had a very pleasant trip from bangkok to chiang mai. The seats are very confortable and we could sleep during the whole 10hrs. They give to water, milk and a snack. Each sit has a USB port where you can charge your phone. We didn't have WiFi. The assistant of the bus was not very nice, but we didn't care much. Very recommendable agency :)
