(z.B. VIP Züge in Thailand).

Man muss also eine Wahl treffen!

We went first class from Nong Khai to Bangkok. It was an awesome experience. Our cabin was super clean, staff was friendly. The booking was easy as well although I had some problems receiving the booking confirmation at first. But everything went well as our tickets were already waiting at the Nong Khai train station upon our arrival. I can absolutely recommend this train as well as the booking via 12goAsia.

This overnight train was one of the worst train trip I had. All advantages over taking a bus are non existent. There is an alcohol ban and no way to smoke somewhere. I can live without those two but during the night they don't turn of the ceiling light. All night long the light glares in your face and i hardly got any sleep at all and the next day is pretty much ruined. The train itself is clean and looks nice. If you really want to get on an overnight train make sure you book the bottom bunk bed since its a little less bright.

We had a first class sleeper cabin. The ride was great, except for the early morning arrival in Bangkok and the many announcements for stops prior to the final destination. The staff seemed a bit put off when he came by to put the top bunk up and collect all the linen prior to us arriving at the station. We are a family of 4 travelling through Laos and Thailand, so we were crowded with our luggage. We didn’t know he was coming around to collect the linen, so we had our suitcases open and on the beds, but we were able to quickly close things up so he can do his work. No need to be annoyed!!

It’s a shame there are no plugs for charging purposes. The only minus is the temperature on the bus. It is freezing, absolutely freezing. You need a winter jacket, a hat and gloves to sleep in warmth. There is a blanket but. It enough. I have never travelled in such cold.

12go.asia was correct with all that they provided to my wife and I, as our tickets were waiting for us at the DOB Building after they were closed (Friday, 8/31/2018, 8:00pm). Our departing flight from Manila to Bangkok was inadvertently 2-hours late due to an electrical storm at Aquino International Airport. Several months prior to our departure to Thailand, I located a nice place to stay and, subsequently, we made reservations at "@Lamphong Hostel" on the same side as the DOB Building. The Security Guard unlocked the door and, had our tickets available for us to sign for. We were quite happy that we didn't miss our trip to Nong Khai (departing the following morning at 8:20am from the "Lamphong Train Station"), as everything went like clockwork. 12GO is truly phenomenal and we would highly recommend them again for anyone requiring their services for advanced booking of Train Tickets to anywhere in Thailand via Thai Railways.

I prefer taking the train to Laos, as busses are, well... busses. Flight into Laos sucks as well since you need so much time to get to the airport and then there's immigration, etc. Anyway, trains were excellent and I don't know what it is on the BKK - Nong Khai trajectory; these trains are much cleaner than the ones to Chumphon. You've got a socket to charge your gadgets and if you're in luck your train car isn't too loud. Earplugs will drown out the most resilient snorring in my experience. The train arrived late, which it usually does, but as a consequence, I missed my connecting ride and had to get to the embassy by myself. The tour operator insisted they waited for me though and said they dropped me off at my hotel - which wasn't true at all. I pointed this out and my ticket was refunded; good to remember - keep your receipts people!

I used Air Udon for both ways and on the way to Nong Khai the toilet was so old... the lock was not working and so the door kept opening, and there was no space even to sit, so practically women could not use it. And because the bus stopped only once in the entire journey, women who had to go to toilet must have found the trip torturous. With this experience I didn't even want to see the toilet on the bay back but I suppose it was the same, because the entire interior of the bus was so old.

Super train, by luck I got the first class cabin (usually for two) on my own. Great service on it and food was excellent. I was surprised I could not book a lower class because I had originally planned to take the 2nd class sleeper as that would have suited me fine. 12go got the ticket to the parcels office in Nong Khai which made collection very easy and quick.
