(z.B. VIP Züge in Thailand).

Man muss also eine Wahl treffen!

Train delayed. There is no proper announcement of delays. However, this train is cleaner than the one from Padang besar to Hua Hin .

Train delayed again - 35 mins for departure & arrived 70 mins later than the scheduled time. Bed is comfy with privacy & the service staff is friendly. Disappointed with the smelly toilet for this returned journey.

This service is just adequate to take us to the destination without the comfort. Would prefer to travel first class and pay for the comfort if there was one. The toilet was pretty bad. Need information and instructions to be pasted at the Padang Besar border because when we got there we were pretty lost as to where to go to catch our train to Malaysia.

The booking process was fine and went smoothly. We boarded at Hua Hin just after 7pm (dinner time) and planned to buy something to eat on the train. Alas, no food to be found anywhere, managed to scavenge a couple of bottles of water (not really enough for two people for a 13 hour trip). Anybody travelling this route from Hua Hin needs to be aware that you should either eat before boarding or bring food with you. The staff came around about 7.30pm and put all the beds down, strangely, I did not feel like going to bed at 7.30 and so had to 'undo' the bed, so that I had somewhere to sit comfortably until I was ready to sleep. Apart from these things, the trip was fine - got us from A to B 0 and the beds were good, the lower berths have plenty of space.

Train arrived only 15 minutes late, so fine. Sleeping berths were good. Lower berth has more space than upper berth. There is an attendant at the end of the carriage, though somewhat annoyingly this one watched his portable TV on loudly during the evening and early morning. Person can round to offer dinner and breakfast. Cup of tea was 60 Bhat. Complete breakfast was 180 Bhat. Connecting train to Butterworth took 1 hour 50 minutes from Pedang Besar; no lavatories on board.
