Amazing ride! We had a free upgrade and the night on the train and the beautiful views in the morning was one of our favorite things to do! Extremely friendly staff, drinks and breakfast for free, train left on time! Perfect!

Air conditioned but still quite hot. Didn't seem to be working properly. Other than that the trip was alright. Very good supply of food and drinks!

We had a 2 person VIP cabin. It had real thick mattresses and was very nice to travel in. Would highly recommend it. It was worth the higher price.

Vähän hidas ja kuluneet raiteet sekä vaunut. Mukava henkilökunta ja kanssamatkustajat. Tarjoilu pelaa ja apua löytyy tarvittaessa. Mahtavat maisemat paikotellen, sääli että valoisa osuus jäi vähäiseksi. Kannattaa kokeilla.

It was exactly how I pictured it. A cheap way to travel far and see some awesome sights while being able to lay back and relax. I stayed second class sleeper with 6 beds for 16+ hours. Luckily I was on the bottom bunk though. The beds were firm but no more so than any other bed in Asia asI had no troubles sleeping. The swaying of the train car, I think, helped put me to sleep. The sleeper car was clean and the bathrooms are what I figured they would be, so no surprises there. All in all I enjoyed the experience, especially the one of a kind view from my window. As long as you’re not an entitled whiny baby like some of these other reviewers, you’ll enjoy this experience and relax.

Very expensive for what you get. You’d be able to find a plane at a cheaper cost and faster travel time if you book in advanced. You’ll get amazing views during parts of the trips which is why I went for it. At one point during the trip a passenger from regular coach came into our first class coach and taught my bed was unoccupied because I was sitting on my friends bottom bunk bed, and he laid there. Very awkward and that is not monitored. When people in our room would get off the train, they’d simply shake the sheets and fold them again to make it look as if they were clean and fresh. If you’re going to charge people $40-60 USD please make it a more enjoyable experience.

Zug #SE1 Kabine 2x, Vietnam Railways, 13.11.2019
We had a 2x VIP cabin, traveling from Hanoi to Da Nang. The bed's were comfortable, but a a little bit dirty. The cabin was not very clean and a few bugs were traveling with us. The toilet's were in a bad condition, even at the start of the trip it looked like nobody had cleaned them. The air-condition was very cold and there was no way to turn it off. All in all was it a good way to travel overnight, the staff was very friendly. But the hygienic standards were very low. The train was very loud, so get yourself some earplugs for the night.

Sleeper car and food on board was fairly good. The toilets were in need of regular cleaning and too dirty to want to use.

All went very well! Slight confusion as I was to be on carriage 12 but there were only 10! The train staff are very nice and helpful, made sure everyone was ready to get off at the right stop. Thanks for a great booking service

The train ride was pretty good, slept really well which surprised us, the downside is the lack of food on the train, basically pot noodles and water. Make sure you stock up on snacks before you leave.

2nd trip this time and the carriage was old and very uncomfortable! Our first trip from Saigon to Hanoi which (same line but much longer) was very smooth, this time it was like being on a tiny boat on rough seas. It was impossible to remain standing without holding on to something. Staff were polite and we felt safe throughout the journey. I don’t know enough to know why exact the carriage moved about so much (perhaps it’s old) but if our first trip was like this then there wouldn’t have been a second one.

My partner slept but I didn’t, at all. Morning headache, nausea, so not good time for me, especially since the toilets were often unavailable and really stinky. Smell reached our compartment. Non smoker but people smoked at carriage end. Stinky. I didn’t find staff friendly- told me to go back to my room for no reason. I stayed and all he wanted was to do his teeth st the basin- plenty of room. Don’t expect much in the way of food. Wouldn’t go again. However, it was lovely to see the countryside in the morning. Nice German couple joined us in cabin. Space just enough.

Pros: - there was only something like a million cockroaches - and there could be ten million or more ... - they didn't walk on people ... - in the morning they all disappeared (went to sleep) (it was only after 10 hours of travel - and finally you could sleep quite easily) ... Cons: - no one checks the tickets on the train :P :) - one lady said that she had a mouse! it's unfair! I would like it too!

It’s an experience in every way; yes the toilets are horrible, the beds are hard as a rock and the cockroaches having fun with al the food/people. But still nothing unexpected in a country with this climate and development. The scenery is beautiful, have a chat with other travelers and be rewarded when you make it to the taxi with good airco. We loved it!!

6 of us booked a 6 hard berth. The beds feel like solid gym mats with no room for headspace- but yes you can sleep on them fine if you’re tired. The train is pretty bumpy and the toilets are in AWFUL condition. Either do not pee for the entire trip or take a shewee (females- helps you aim!) it also arrived 1.5hr late (can’t guarantee times but giving honest review) decent for the money we paid, just a very long night
