The train was punctual, only delay for 10 minutes when arriving in HCMC.
The view along the railway was awesome.
Good condition in train, there wasxwater dispenser in the train, the food price is also reasonable, 35k for one meal. No canteen in this train.
The toilet was a bit smelly, there was also some cockroaches in the train.

This trip in the 1st class sleeper was a way better experience than my trip in the 2nd class sleeper. What makes me happy is that this time the staff was really friendly. What I disliked where all the bugs in the cabin and in my bed, I am the type of person who can not really handle that and that's why I could not really sleep.

We did the whole trip Hanoi to HCMC in 34 hours and the train arrived on the dot in HCMC. Brilliant. Lots to see out of the windows and the soft sleeper is great - as long as you get the bottom bunk. The toilets were grim but hey, ever been London to Manchester?
It would have been better to break the journey up a couple of times, but we couldn't. People who, like us, have to do it in one go should go right ahead.

It's not a bus ride from Hell, but it's more like a bus ride from Purgatory. You travel with packages. Both food and restrooms are advertised, but they are not provided. There is no food provided on the bus. The company does pay for food at rest stops. There is no restroom on the bus, at all. You pull over and squat and hope the locals aren't trying to get a glimpse of you. The seats are all beds and you cannot sit up. The A.C. cannot be adjusted. This is how the locals travel, and the locals can be a little crass if you are female. I don't recommend this company.

I couldnt do check in online and I dont know why but on airport service did it. Anyway the flight was good and comfortable.

Flight delayed and on top of that the luggage took quite long to come. It was a bit stressfull as we had another flight after that. Otherwise I have no complains.

It was really pretty awful, but I don't totally blame the airline or the staff. It was the customers. Behind me sat this older "gentleman" who manhandled my seat throughout the flight, at one point I turned around to stare at what the heck he could possibly be doing back there. That made no difference, as he continued to physically molest my seat back for the entire trip.
Next to my husband, this woman removed her shoes & hoisted her legs up on the seat in front of her, and remained this way for the whole trip. The flight attendants tried to make her sit up and buckle seat belt, as is usual, and she got into a yelling match with them, and she won.
3 stars because the flight attendants were courteous.

The car was clean. A single cochroach and as an insect bite. That was all. The usual delay of 1.5 hours on arrival. BUT Asia 123 did not give the opp. Of choosing lower or upper bed. They gave me the possibility of picking a seat. And guess what: I got an upper bed. Meaning that I could not see out of the windows. Missed the scenery. Moreover the temp changed from to cold constantly. And in Vietnam tve do not convert the cabin to seats during daytime. The washrooms were okay compare to my exp. which was very low. Use them at start not at end. I think i take a flight next time. Same price.

I think more training to the ground personel like being polite and helpful..bcoz i have experience i lost one of my eyeglasses..im trying to find i approached some people in uniform even a floor cleaner nobody wants to help me..

Overall it was what I aimed for: some nice experience on a long train ride, through the countryside. It was like planned. I had a very relaxing train ride, could.sleep well. I booked the first class sleeper (4 people in a cabin); there were always people joining/ leaving the cabin,. Some of them were a.bit noisy, but that's also part of the experience. Yes, I saw some bugs in the morning, crawling the wall, and yes, the squat toilet was something unexpected. It's worth mentioning we, foreigners, are the ones visiting their country, so, we are the ones to adapt to their ways. I cannot understand when I read comments of people being on the verge of rudeness, looking down at Vietnamese way of life, cleanliness and so. I remember my parents told me when I was a kid that I should be nice, polite and never turn up the nose when I saw something I'd consider different when visiting friends or relatives, for people are.different everywhere and they do their best, because that's the only life they know. So, compare the train experience to The USA, or European ones is way unfair. One would better take a flight. That's quicker and cleaner
