Siargao Hotels and Resorts

In Siargao, you won't have any problem finding a place to stay that suits your needs and budget. Most accommodations are located in and around General Luna where you can choose anywhere from a humble nipa hut to a more luxurious villa.

Budget

At first, we were hesitant to go with Paglaom Hostel (Purok 5, General Luna) because the reviews online seem to be too good to be true. Also, you need to stay for a minimum of 3 days – 5 days if you are traveling solo. Pretty soon we discovered the reason behind this. Since guests are staying for a longer period of time, they develop a sense of belonging and the hostel is able to foster a family environment. We really appreciate all the events they hosted for us, including family dinners and group activities. A bunker bed costs just PHP390 per night and you can also book tours with them at a much cheaper rate. This is not the place to stay if you're anti-social or introverted though.

Patrick's on the Beach (Dapa-Union-Gen. Luna Rd.) offers every possible type of accommodation from bunk beds to hammocks and tents. A dorm bed costs PHP500 to PHP550 per person (non-A/C, A/C) while a hammock under a covered cabana costs PHP300 per person. They also have tents available for PHP500 to PHP700 good for two or you can pitch your own for PHP250. Private room rates start at PHP1700. Location is superb as its walking distance from the boulevard, lots of shaded areas, great ocean views and you can swim right out in front of the property.

Mid-Range

If you're traveling with kids, we cannot recommend Romantic Beach Villas (Brgy. 5 General Luna) highly enough. You can book a private room that is good for 2 adults and 2 kids for approximately PHP4300 to PHP6000 inclusive of breakfast. Location is great, only a minute walk from the beach and they also have an infinity pool which is a nice change from all the salt water exposure. Staff are welcoming and the food is great and reasonably priced. We booked the Pacific Room and the view is sublime.

Room rates at Ocean 101 Beach Resort (Cloud 9 Catangnan Gen. Luna) start at about PHP2500. What we like about it is that it's basically just a few minutes walk from Cloud 9 and yet it has a calm and relaxed vibe. The resort ground is beautiful with coconut trees and a great view of the beach. Their restaurant also offers a very diverse menu and they do local and Western cuisine well. However, WiFi only works in the restaurant and reception area.

Top End

We felt like clapping our hands in glee the moment we set foot in our room at Bravo Beach Resort (Tourism Road, Brgy. 5, General Luna). We paid PHP12200 for our double occupancy room, breakfast included, and we really loved its modern and eco-friendly vibe. There's an area with a pool where you can hang out and just chill with the other guests. Breakfast is amazing and their food and wine selection, in general, is better than average.

The villas and suites at Kalinaw Resort (Cloud 9 Road, Catangnan, General Luna) certainly don't come cheap with rates starting from PHP12300 to PHP34000 per night but this means experiencing the best in terms of amenities and facilities. Our own villa has its own pool and massage room and the grounds right in front of it is beautifully lit in the evening. The staff were all lovely and the resort gave us a feeling of being in our own little paradise. If there's one thing we have to complain about, it's that the breakfast was the same every morning that we were there. Their pizza though is the best that we've had on the island.
